The Data Engineer will work across cross-disciplinary teams and leverage BigPark product telemetry data augmented by additional internal data streams to help improve product performance, understand product value and drive new product features.

Bigpark, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada, is part of the Office Media Group inside the Experiences + Devices division. We have a history of creating showcase experiences for Xbox, Windows, and Microsoft Office. The Data Engineer will work alongside the data team to obtain data, monitor data quality, and perform ETL fordashboarding and analysis. The job uses telemetry data to provide data-driven insights, as well as defines the key telemetry to measure future outcomes against.

The position is responsible for informing telemetry implementation and telemetry quality, building data pipelines, monitoring for privacy compliance, and pulling data for reports and analyses in alignment with team needs.


  • Degree in Statistics/Math/Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years working as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist or Data Analyst
  • 2+ years working with databases and SQL
  • Experience with data visualization or dashboarding; PowerBI a plus
  • Experience with large scale computing systems like COSMOS, Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, and/or similar systems preferred
  • Experience with programming skills, e.g. Java, C# is a plus
