Job Summary
The Accountant II applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports as directed; records the cost of newly acquired fixed assets; tracks existing fixed assets; records depreciation and accounts for the disposition of fixed assets.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
· Record transactions for fixed asset additions, transfers, dispositions and depreciation in the accounting system.
· Assist in the tracking of medical instruments
· Document and perform accounting transactions for all monthly asset movements.
· Assign tag numbers to fixed assets.
· Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets.
· Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper accounting of newly purchased fixed assets.
· Work with the business owners as they track their departmental expenditures and make the necessary asset transfers or retirements in the accounting system in a timely manner.
· Attach supporting documentation for asset transactions in the accounting system on a monthly basis.
· Assist in month end procedures as assigned, including but not limited to journal entry preparation/review and account reconciliation/analysis.
· Gain an understanding of a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the proper accounting treatment of fixed asset transactions.
· Ensure proper records are retained such that testing of compliance with internal controls is accurate and complete.
· Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience required
· 2+ Years relevant accounting experience required
· Oracle Financials R12 experience preferred
· Salesforce experience preferred
· Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
Training and Skills
· Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills (High proficiency)
· Detailed oriented, organized and has strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet tight deadlines (High proficiency)
· Excellent skills in oral and written communication (High proficiency)
· Ability to work under pressure (High proficiency)
· Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers in order to resolve issues (High proficiency)

· 10% travel may be required
