Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Administrator, Human Resources will provide a full range of administrative support to the HR team, contributing to the smooth operations of the department. The incumbent will prepare documentation and perform various administrative functions.

Responsibilities 

  • Prepares and maintains general HR paperwork and employee documentation. Ensures digital personnel files are complete and up to date.
  • Enters new hire information into global HRIS & payroll systems; responsible for maintaining integrity of site data (org charts, position management against budgets) within those systems; and processes employee changes (promotions, transfers, terminations).
  • Performs administrative functions such as preparing job descriptions and coordinating new hire onboarding and the offboarding process.
  • Assists HR team with planning, coordinating, and executing company events, employee recognition, and ad hoc projects as required.
  • Processes HR department invoices for payment and supports the HR team with managing the HR budget by tracking and regularly reporting on expenditures.
  • Conducts quarterly spend reviews, comparing actual spending to the budget, works with accounts payable and uses SAP to resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintains HR supplies and inventory; coordinate logistics for HR events and training sessions; and assists with compliance-related tasks and audits while ensuring adherence to record-keeping requirements.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • 1-2 years’ experience working in HR or in an administrative role
  • College diploma in HR, Business, Administration or related field
  • Expert proficiency with MS Excel
  • Familiarity with SAP & SuccessFactors an asset
  • Valid Canadian Driving License.

Working Conditions

  • Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 4 x 3 work schedule, 10 hours per day.
  • The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Prince George, Fort St. James, Mackenzie and Smithers. Employees accessing the site from outside the region are eligible to receive a tax-free travel allowance commensurate with the distance they are required to travel.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
  • Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
