  • You will manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives. 




  • You will support the long-term success of Planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs, and the overall contribution to the broader company goals. 




  • You will support the Planning function in ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. 




  • Producing monthly applications for payment.




  • Updating cash flow forecasts.




  • Assisting in the internal cost reporting process.




  • Procuring of sub-contract packages which includes carrying out reviews, comparisons and assessments of tender returns.




  • Attending mid and post tender meetings with potential sub-contractors and suppliers.




  • Drafting of sub-contract.




  • Managing the cost of packages including assessing/reviewing variation costs.




  • Settling of final accounts with supply chain.




  • Managing the cost reporting.




  • Generating estimate to the contract pricing, projected profit/loss, pricing omissions etc.




  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documents as required by procurement including preparation of bills of quantities.




  • Attending client and progress meetings.




  • Responsible for the commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement to final account. 




  • Procurement of subcontract packages and materials including collating tender documentation & administering tenders. 




  • Accountable for commercial package management and reporting to the commercial lead. 




  • Establishes cost control systems including administering client and subcontract changes. 




  • Establishes risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms. 




  • Mitigates risks and protect package/project margin. 




  • Enhances profit by seeking opportunities through change and cost reduction measures such as value engineering. 




  • Operates and collaborates as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 




  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work

You’ll need to have\: 




  • Proficient in MS office tools.




  • Subcontract profit and loss reporting. 




  • Administering monthly commercial calendar. 




  • Contract Management, including knowledge of Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) Suite of Contracts. 




  • Ability to apply detailed technical expertise managing complex tasks. 




  • Experience in establishing cost control systems. 




  • Leading value engineer and cost exercises. 




  • Preparing monthly commercial reports.




  • Developed planning and organisational skills. 




  • Ability to communicate, collaborate & network with key stakeholders and senior leaders.

You’ll also have:




  • Working towards membership of MCIOB / MAPM / MRICS / MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. 




  • Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the construct sector. 




  • Construction management expertise.




  • Developing commercial and financial acumen. 




  • Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams. 




  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders. 




  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.    




  • Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management (or equivalent). CSCS. Chartered MRICS (or equivalent).




  • Ability to apply detailed technical expertise managing complex tasks.
