The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for delivering high quality service and innovative new methods to improve value perception and grow revenues. He/she will assist in managing the hospitality operation, including, but not limited to, food & beverage, repairs, maintenance, and enhancement of the asset base. This includes staff training and scheduling, social activity arrangements, maintenance activities, daily facility operations, and food and beverage inventories. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will assist in coordinating activities held at the club with other departmental personnel to ensure that the highest standards are maintained in the services provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the hospitality operation to include food & beverage, and the safeguard and enhancement of the physical facility and asset base.
- Work closely with the Club Manager and Executive Chef to oversee all food and beverage services at the club, maintenance of facilities, and development of the member menu and social events.
- Responsible for staff hiring, training, mentoring, scheduling, and management.
- Deliver performance appraisals and the productive coaching/counseling of staff as needed.
- Work closely with the Club Manager to ensure adherence to the approved budget and business plans, data accuracy, and exemplary member relations.
- Maintain the dining point of sale system and train staff at the same.
- Participates in the monthly food & beverage inventory process.
- Embrace the membership and staff and provide them with a friendly and professional club setting.
- Assure that the physical assets are in excellent repair and maintained.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Hospitality management or related degree.
- Minimum of three years of experience in the food and beverage or hospitality industry; club experience is preferred.
- Strong revenue generation and member-connection skills.
- Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be competitively driven and able to delegate effectively and follow up on assignments and goals.
- Must be strong in problem solving skills as well as customer communication.
- Must be able to multi-task and work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) with minimal supervision.
- Performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently is required to walk and sit, and occasionally is required to stand.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to approximately 25 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- Ability to continuously stand for up to a 10-hour shift.
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, climb stairs, reach overhead, and lift to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work under strenuous and heated conditions
