Need someone that knows Do-178C and Do254  Client is an industry leader in supplying analog and digital instrumentation to the military, commercial and business sectors within the aviation marketplace. We provide technological solutions to some of the most substantial aircraft manufacturers and operators in the world. Worldwide leader in flight deck upgrades, has an opening for an experienced Certification Engineer. Develop required documentation to attain Supplemental Type Certificates, Technical Standard Orders (TSO) and Parts Manufacturing Approvals (PMA) in compliance with all FAA requirements for any IS&S system on any aircraft type, 14 CFR Part 23, 25, 27, and 29. Responsibilities:• Attend surveys, meetings and aircraft installations to verify that all FAA/EASA regulations are complied with in support of an STC effort.• Produce documentation needed to attain airworthiness certification:  Product Specific Certification Plans (PSCP), Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA); Airplane Flight Manual Supplements (AFMS); System Safety Assessment (SSA); Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); Installation Instructions; Operations & Installation Manuals; Electrical Load Analysis (ELA); Weight & Balance Reports; Fire Property Reports; HIRF and Lightning Reports; EMI/RFI Test Plans; Ground Test Plans, Flight Test Plans; System Substantiation Reports; Summary Compliance Reports. • Manage external resources including, but not limited to, engineering vendors, FAA/EASA representatives, DERs, DARs, DMIRs etc.• Coordinate projects with internal departments including Program Management, Product Support, Operations, Purchasing and Business Development.• Perform ISO9001/AS9100D Internal Auditing• Perform Software Quality Assurance Tasks and Auditing per DO-178C• Perform Hardware Quality Assurance Tasks and Auditing per DO-254• Perform Environmental Qualification Conformity and Auditing per DO-160G• Provides support to Software and Hardware Engineering by developing and maintaining procedures, performing inspections and audits and developing plans incorporating quality assurance activities unique to each software and hardware development effort.Required Skills:• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or five years of equivalent experience, preferred.• At least five years of aircraft certification experience (STC, TSO, PMA).• Demonstrated systems engineering capability in programs that encompass system architecture, requirements analysis, design, production, integration, test and transition into operations.• Detailed knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR Parts 21, 23, 25, 27, 29), e.g. Advisory Circulars (AC): AC 21-40a; AC43-13; etc.• Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work well in cross-functional teams.• Strong communication skills including technical documentation, written reports and proposals, development and delivery of presentations and the ability to listen to and communicate effectively with customers and vendors.• Ability to use Microsoft Office tools to create STC documentation (AC 21-40a).• Ability to use AutoCAD to create drawings in support of STC programs.• Working knowledge of “best practices” for implementing software quality assurance. • Able to read high-level computer languages.
