IMEG is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate – Designer 2 in our Greenwood Village, CO office. As a Civil Engineering Graduate – Designer 2, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering assessment and analysis, design, field inspections, writing reports, preparing permit applications, site drainage & grading designs, utility layout, and gain knowledge of the Civil Engineering trade. This position will be expected to work within the project’s monetary budget and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Principal Responsibilities
• Perform basic calculations based on assignment i.e. hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, or calculations to balance site earthwork.
• Prepare designs for water and sewer systems for smaller private systems as well as larger municipal systems.
• Prepare grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential site plans.
• Surface modeling, water shed modeling, storm sewer design, sanitary sewer design utilizing engineering software.
• Assist with permit applications for a variety of municipalities and review authorities.
• Pipe sizing and loading calculations
• Roadway profiles and geometric design
• Channel and culvert hydraulics
• Flexible pavement design and rigid pavement design
• Geometric pavement and site circulation design
• Site grading and earthwork computations
Required Skills/Abilities
• Proficient skills or knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3Dsoftware and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible
• Developing proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenge
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
Education and Experience
• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience minimum in the building design consulting industry required
• Engineering in Training (EIT) license preferred
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship
Physical Requirements
• Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
• Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
Salary Range: $69,000 - $77,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
