Hiring a CNC Machinist - to program, set-up, operate and trouble shoot CNC Star SB20R.  $20.50 - $30.00 per hour. Weekly pay. Stable, long-term employment.

Moser Jewel Company began in 1941 as, mainly, a jewel bearing manufacturer. We have evolved over those many years and today we are a manufacturer of micro precision components and assemblies. We manufacture to specific customer drawings for various industries including but not limited to Aerospace, Medical, Semiconductor, Automotive etc. We are a custom job shop. Looking for another long-term employee.

  • Ability to read prints and convert between metric and standard measurements as needed.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and machine shop experience with knowledge of tools and their use.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems associated with machining and manufacturing.
  • Ability to manufacture quality parts within tight tolerances using CNC.
  • Ability to use equipment such as lathes, milling machine, grinders, comparators, calipers, mics, scopes.
  • Ability to work under magnification.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Ability to complete paperwork.
  • Self-starter and independent worker who enjoys autonomy.
  • Reliable, responsible and deadline oriented.
  • This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration

Responsibilities:


  • Program, set-up and operate CNC machinery. Current CNC utilized is a Star SB20-R Type E, 7 axis.
  • Fabricate tools, fixtures and assist in supporting general manufacturing of customer product as required.
  • Perform other general machining and production functions as requested utilizing lathes, Bridgeport milling machine, presses, surface grinders, tool-grinders.
  • Utilize equipment such as mics, calipers, gauges, tweezers, scopes, eye loops, comparators.
  • Contribute to determining possible run times and material usage. Contribute to what is reasonable as to deadlines and then to meeting deadlines.
  • Troubleshooting and assisting with overall company manual manufacture and assembly from time to time as well as CNC manufacturing as part of the team.

General Description:


This person is responsible for writing programs/programming/fully setting up/running/troubleshooting and breaking down the CNC. Parts range from simple to complex and are produced via Star SB-20R/E Swiss type CNC automatic lathe, 7 axis, with Fanuc 0I-TD controller. Experience with and knowledge of a wide range of materials, especially alloys utilized for aerospace and materials used in medical manufacturing is needed. Person will be selecting drills, reamers, cutters, collets and holders etc as needed to produce the parts required. Manufacturing is done in accordance with work orders and to the print provided by the customer. This person will assist in estimates of run time and material usage for parts being quoted to customer drawing. Excellent math skills, technical abilities, manual dexterity and thought processes are needed. We are required to work with tolerances within ± 0.0001” . You will maintain the equipment and supplies and keep detailed records. You will also be assisting with general production on our light industrial manufacturing floor and will need some experience with small engine lathes, manual machine tools, small pneumatic presses and general machining equipment in the machine shop such as surface grinders, tool grinders, lathes, Bridgeport milling machine, and inspection equipment such as mics, calipers, gauges, comparator and scopes. It is necessary to work under magnification at times as we are a micro precision manufacturer. Being a custom job shop there is a wide variety of work.


We are a relatively flat organization so being proactive with input, problem solving and joining to accomplish team tasks is very important. Computer literacy with programs like Excel and Word is preferred.


You absolutely must be dependable, have your own transportation and be deadline and detail oriented. We all must be able to rely on each other to keep our company strong and growing.

Pay rate: Commensurate with experience and skill level


Pay Frequency: Weekly
