About the role


selectability is currently recruiting for an experienced compliance officer to join team, this is a full time position based in Cairns. 


The compliance officer plays a pivotal role in selectability by contributing to the establishment of best practice standards for Consumers, Older Persons, and Young Persons. This involves a commitment to promoting adherence to regulatory standards, ensuring that services consistently meet or exceed industry standards.


This position will conduct compliance checks, educate leaders and employees on compliance processes, sharing valuable information with the team regarding evidence and compliance, the officer contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.


Effective and appropriate communication is crucial in this role, both internally and externally, fostering collaboration and understanding. Building strong relationships with various stakeholders is a core element of the position, ensuring a unified approach towards maintaining the highest standards and compliance within the organisation.


Main duties:


Compliance



  • managing operational compliance for Cairns

  • completing compliance checklists

  • identifying compliance gaps

  • supporting leaders to rectify identified gaps in compliance

  • educate leaders and employees in processes to ensure going compliance


Workplace Health & Safety



  • completing workplace checklists

  • identifying and managing hazards

  • monitoring incidents and actions are closed out

  • monitoring of local emergency evacuations and first aid officers

  • managing vehicle and property maintenance


Complaints



  • managing consumer complaints


About you


To be successful you must:



  • demonstrated experience in a similar role

  • understanding of NDIS, HSQF, National Mental Health, Child Safety is highly desirable

  • a high level of attention to detail

  • a passion for compliance and standards

  • strong written & verbal communication skills

  • a commitment to best practice

  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • ability to work autonomously

  • very strong administrative skills including intermediate level MS word, excel & outlook

  • most importantly… a positive attitude


Role Requirements



  • travel to selectability sites will be required

  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence 

  • a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain) 

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain) 

  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
