Construction Estimator

Worcester Eisenbrandt, a leading historic restoration construction company,  is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare efficient, cost effective,  and detailed cost estimates for historic construction projects in the metropolitan DC, Maryland and Virginia areas.

Position summary of responsibilities are:

  1. Review construction requests for proposals for historic site restoration,
  2. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plan documents, current and predicted market conditions and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades,
  3. Analyzing current and predicted market conditions needed to formulate a detailed estimation for specific projects,
  4. Itemize trade specific construction scopes and prepare bid packages,
  5. Interact with stakeholders, architects, engineers. and historic regulatory standards  to understand and incorporate project objectives, schedules, permits, costs, and takeoffs.
  6. Utilize various software to determine near-accurate calculations of probable expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities for construction projects.
  7. Attend pre-bid conferences.
  8. Visit construction sites, as needed.

Position Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree in engineering or construction management, may substitute degree with 5 years of experience in construction estimating.
  2. Proficiency with the Bid process
  3. Detailed oriented with the ability to focus on quality and accuracy, .
  4. Experience in historic restoration is a plus
  5. Proficiency  with estimating software and Excel.
  6. Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects.
