PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The Research Assistant is responsible for assisting the Associate Director and Director of Investigative Research with the population, management, and auditing of key datasets.

 

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Entering a high volume of data collected from multiple independent sources
  • Maintaining and organizing repositories of data according to COE guidelines to ensure data accessibility
  • Regularly auditing, reviewing and deduplicating data to ensure readiness for major report releases and for regular updates of ADL’s public facing databases
  • Conduct and meticulously document research, investigate and monitor extremist movements, groups and individuals and related activity through primary and secondary public sources
  • Respond to research requests from COE staff and regional requests for help as needed

Qualifications

Skills: 

  • Significant experience utilizing data management software and technology
  • Experience with Notion, Salesforce, Airtable, advanced Excel preferred
  • Aptitude for taxonomy and metadata schema development
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Familiarity and interest in antisemitism, anti-Zionism, and extremism preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Work Experience: 

  • Academic or professional experience working with complex data sets
  • Coursework or projects completed on antisemitism, extremism or related topics

 Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; graduate degree preferred

Work Environment:

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

 

Compensation:

  • This position has a salary range of $39,000 to $54,000. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
