Job Summary

The Network Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, strategic thinker to lead in the management of our multifunctioning lab environments. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of senior engineers to certify all hardware, software and protocols which touch and impact the Comcast CRAN and Backbone networks. They will cultivate relationships with our business partners and vendors to determine reasonable timelines of completion, evaluate possibilities for dual certifications and provide read-outs to CONNECT senior leadership team. They will work with our tooling and operational teams to further build out automation in the lab space, while prioritizing the detailed coded transitions that are to be automated throughout our network.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead large scale network design evaluations to further drive our resiliency and reliability in the Comcast network 

  • Responsible for the successful certification and documentation of test results for Architectural reviews.  

  • Develop and leverage cross-functional relationships across Comcast Business, Divisions, FedGov, Security and additional teams. Requires pro-active communication and coordination across teams to ensure alignment and collaborative working relationships 

  • Oversee end-to-end planning of test cases through several labs that are leveraged for full certification of new software/hardware in the network.  

  • Provided program updates to key stakeholders on a consistent basis. 

  • Partner with our tooling teams, internal and externally, to help drive automation for certification execution. 

  • Coordinate retrospectives monthly to receive operational inputs that would benefit testing requirements for the network.  

  • Utilize data driven insights and partnership skills to develop differentiated content opportunities to drive growth and product adoption. 

  • Align with product and divisional organizations to leverage partnerships and content to deliver on business goals. 

  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Ability to work nights, weekends and variable schedule as needed for project/stunt support. 

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Employees at all levels are expected to:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a related field 

  • Extensive experience in lab environment 

  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and managing large-scale partnerships  

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain credible relationships with high-profile partners 

  • Ability to handle a high volume of projects simultaneously, keeping pace in a quickly moving department 

  • Diligent and resourceful critical thinker who maintains a strong sense of ownership and accountability 

  • Excellent written and communication skills; extraordinary attention to detail, keen organizational and analytical skills; proactive self-starter who shows initiative 

  • Team player; can-do attitude; willing to jump in and out of multiple assignments as needed
