ANA is headquartered in Henderson, Nevada with locations in Cypress, California and Spartanburg, South Carolina. ANA is growing and we are seeking an industry experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in Power System Controls to join our growing team in an onsite position in Henderson, Nevada. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and testing power electronics systems and components. This role requires a deep understanding of power conversion principles, circuit design, and control strategies for various applications.
The position is fully onsite, and the work schedule is weekdays at 8:00 - 5:00pm. This role reports to the Senior R&D Electrical Engineer.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Automation and Electrical Design: Develop detailed power system schematics and layouts using CAD tools such as AutoCad Electrical. Select and size inverters, materials, magnetics, and transformers to meet design specifications and regulatory requirements. Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate potential automation products and technologies for power system management.
- Testing and Validation - Simulation and Analysis: Perform detailed simulations and analyses to ensure robust design using tools. Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automation solutions, including thermal management and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
- Prototype and Production Testing: Develop and execute test plans for prototype and production units to validate performance and reliability.
- Documentation and Compliance - Design Documentation: Generate comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test reports.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations such as IEC, UL, IEEE, and NERC.
- Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to define project requirements, specifications, and timelines. Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality assurance, and field service teams.
- Client Interaction: Collaborate effectively with clients to understand their needs and ensure successful project delivery.
- Innovation and Improvement -Technology Advancement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics and automation technologies. Continuously seek opportunities to improve product performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 7-10+ years of experience in power electronics design and development. Proven track record in designing and deploying power electronic systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in automation design and simulation software, such as autoCAD electrical. Strong knowledge of power semiconductor devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs, SiC/GaN transistors). Experience with digital and analog control techniques for power electronics. Experience in sizing a system of power electronics, magnetics and transformers for power generation systems (10kVA to 1MVA+).
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-power applications (e.g., renewable energy systems, electric vehicles). Knowledge of thermal management and cooling techniques for power electronics. Understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM).

$100,000 - $120,000 a year
The salary range for this role is $100,000 – 120,000 per year, which serves as a guide for pay decisions. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors, such as candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills, as well as pay equity considerations.
