Position Title:     Electrician (2 Positions)
Location:     Saskatchewan
Job Type:     Contract position (till December 2024)
Pay Range:    $39.00 - $43.00


GENERAL FUNCTION:


The Electrician is responsible for the field level scope associated with the various projects undertaken by CSCL. To achieve this objective, the electrician’s primary responsibilities are:



  • Responsible for completing tasks related to the installation, energization, and maintenance of cathodic protection systems.

  • Responsible for the maintenance and operational function of assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

  • Responsible to coordinate and complete the specific project task objectives.

  • Towing a 2 or 3 axle trailers loaded with misc. materials and equipment.

  • Removal of existing impressed current cathodic protection rectifiers.

  • Removal of misc. existing cathodic protection / electrical components such as old remote monitoring units, old AC panels, old intermediate junction boxes, old conduit and connectors etc.

  • Installation of new impressed current cathodic protection rectifiers.

  • Raising existing impressed current cathodic protection rectifiers.

  • Glanding and terminating of teck cables

  • Installing new AC services

  • DC/AC cable terminations within rectifiers, negative drain panel junction boxes, remote monitoring unit enclosures, AC panels etc.

  • Construction of new concrete pads for electrical stands.

  • Installation of various sizes of electrical stands.

  • Cable routing within trenches/excavations/conduit etc.

  • Installation of anodes, calcined coke breeze, cabling, vent piping etc.

  • Splicing of cables of various sizes inclusive of repairing insulation with Raychem splice kits and/or other approved splicing materials.

  • Spotting of misc. equipment i.e., skid steers, rubber tire backhoes etc.

  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs periodically is mandatory. Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis is mandatory.

  • Have a class 1 drivers license, or a class 3 drivers license, or class 5 driver license with a heavy haul endorsement with a clean abstract is an asset.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must be a Journeyman Electrician with 2+ years of industrial or Oil field experience.

  • Good understanding of CEC.

  • Good understanding of Electrical permitting and inspections.

  • Must have good oral, written communication, and computer skills.

  • Must be physically fit, willing to routinely work outdoors, and able to lift 30kg on a regular basis.

  • Should have solid hands-on technical capabilities, valid driver’s license, be willing to travel, and work overtime.

  • General understanding of electrical circuits and theory.

  • Good initiative, adaptable, flexible, and team player.

  • Technical (electrical) background, good problem-solving skills.

  • Any cathodic protection background will be an asset.
