Job Responsibilities:
- Perform biological field investigations, monitor construction activities, prepare draft reports and sections of reports for senior review
- Apply understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements to support project environmental permitting strategy
- Perform research, field investigations, and support preparation draft portions of Environmental Assessments, Plans of Operation, Plans of Development, Environmental Impact Statements, and other permitting and compliance document
- Develop draft written descriptions of existing conditions, anticipated impacts, and recommended mitigation measures for environmental documents
- Other environmental field and office duties as assigned
- Conduct Environmental inspections and sampling including asbestos, lead, mold, soil groundwater, air, etc.
- Prepare inspection reports based on the inspection findings
- Map creation
- Conduct asbestos and lead abatement oversight
- Assist with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections.
- Assist in the creation of SWPPP documents and their regular updating.
- Assist with preparation and performance of Environmental Investigations, including, but not limited to, Phase I ESAs, Phase II ESAs, remediation and other appropriate reports as needed for various assigned projects.
- Assist with preparation of groundwater sampling/monitoring investigations independently or in support of UES’ geotechnical and/or materials testing departments.
- Assist with abatement monitoring, emissions measurement and disposal monitoring and reporting as needed for various assigned projects.
- Serve as a steward of UES and of a safe and secure work environment for all UES employees.
- Mentor UES’ growing talent pool while ensuring that your own technical development and training continues.
- Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Required Qualifications:
- Willingness to work in-office and in the field.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in environmental science, natural resources management, environmental policy, or related field
- Good communication skills and ability to work with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience, preferably in environmental consulting, or working for a federal/state environmental agency
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work in variable weather on job sites throughout the year
