Job Responsibilities
- Experience in report writing, performing wetland delineations, leading field crews, permitting.
- Experience in preparation of NEPA documents.
- Experience collecting data using GPS equipment; preparing GIS maps and exhibits.
- Prepare and review environmental reports, permits, and related materials.
- Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance.
- Proficient in mitigation process and procedures
- Perform advanced QA/QC implementation and oversight.
- Communicates scientific and technical information to the project manager and project team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- 3-5 or more years of environmental science experience supporting the transportation industry, such as National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) work with TxDOT, a State or Federal Resource agency, a local government or metropolitan planning organization (MPO).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources, geosciences, geography, or related field.
- Solid organizational and technical writing skills.
- Effective time-management, written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Articulate with professional presence and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365, ArcGIS
- Must be able to conduct fieldwork, in sometimes inclement weather conditions, and be able to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Knowledge of NEPA, and other local, state and federal regulatory requirements for environmental compliance and permitting.
