Fleet Manager


We are seeking a talented and experienced Fleet / Garage Manager for our client, a prominent Construction Company based in Northern Ireland. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will report to the Transport, Fleet Manager and take on a variety of key tasks and responsibilities.


Main Duties and Responsibilities



  1. Manage all Garage Personnel and Facilities: Oversee the daily operations and ensure the efficient management of all garage personnel and facilities.




  2. Career Development and Mentorship: Implement effective career development plans and a mentorship program for apprentices.




  3. Budgetary Forecasts: Assist in preparing budgetary forecasts aligned with corporate objectives and ensure their successful delivery.




  4. Health and Safety Management: Oversee health and safety management and conduct regular audits within the garage.




  5. Administrative Activities: Ensure all administrative tasks are completed on time and in accordance with internal systems.




  6. Process and System Development: Assist in the development and implementation of processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency.




  7. Legislative Compliance: Ensure all fleet vehicles comply with legislative and transport requirements.




  8. Accident Reporting and Investigations: Oversee all accident reporting and conduct investigations as required.




  9. PSV Preparation: Manage PSV preparation to ensure fleet readiness and compliance.




  10. Unscheduled Work Planning: Plan and manage unscheduled work efficiently.




  11. Roadside Breakdowns: React promptly to roadside breakdowns and ensure timely resolutions.




  12. Computerised Defect Reporting: Utilize a computerised defect reporting system to track and manage vehicle issues.




  13. Dealer and Supplier Coordination: Work closely with dealers and suppliers regarding warranty and maintenance contracts.




  14. Quality and Safety: Ensure all tasks are performed with a focus on quality and health and safety.




  15. Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as deemed relevant by the management.
