Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join our team supporting our newly launched private investments group, Lenora Capital. The Fund Accountant will play a critical role in managing the accounting and financial reporting functions for a series of closed and open-end private markets funds, and will also be responsible for accounting activities related to donor-advised funds. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in fund accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance to join an organization at its start and help create the processes that will support its success.

Your Role:
Fund Accounting:
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities for private markets funds, including recording investment transactions, reconciling cash and investment positions, and calculating net asset values (NAV).
- Interface with fund service platforms and administrators
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, investor reports, K-1s and regulatory filings in accordance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Initiate capital calls and distributions for fund shareholders
- Manage the annual audit process, including providing documentation and support to external auditors.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Accounting:
- Manage the accounting functions for donor-advised funds, including recording contributions, distributions, and investment activities.
- Use problem solving skills to design and improve workflows for client donations.
- Prepare periodic financial statements and reports for donor-advised funds, ensuring compliance with donor restrictions and regulatory guidelines.
- Work closely with donor advisors and charitable organizations to address accounting inquiries and provide support as needed.
Your Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in fund accounting, partnership accounting, financial reporting, or related roles within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, investment accounting principles, and regulatory requirements for private equity funds and donor-advised funds.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- This role is an in-office, full-time, and exempt position. We are a work from office culture with a lot of flexibility.
Compensation:
- Pay: $120,000 - $140,000 per year

What to expect in the hiring process

2. Initial Interview - this 30-min chat with a recruiter or hiring manager gives us a chance to learn about your background and goals and share more about the role and company.
3. Role Alignment - next you’ll meet with the hiring manager and a peer (virtual or in-person) to dive deeper into the role, responsibilities, and your transferrable experiences.
4. Full Loop - you’ll meet the team in two, back-to-back interviews with team members you’re likely to work with. During these conversations, we’ll be listening for examples of your technical skills as well as how core values show up in your experience. There may also be a writing sample, role play, hiring, or technical assessment depending on the position.
5. Personal Reference Calls - in this final step in the hiring process, you will be asked to arrange 1-2 personal reference calls with past managers of our choosing.
