The Opportunity:

The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Human Resources Analyst 2 Generalist. 

The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office is the largest prosecuting attorney’s office in the state of Oregon and is considered one of the nation’s leaders in innovative specialty court programs. Internally our HR team supports over 200 employees including administrative staff, DA investigators, management, prosecuting attorneys, victim advocates as well as working with the Multnomah County Courts, local law enforcement and other Multnomah County departments.

As an HR Generalist, this position will join a fast-paced, high-energy work environment, and will play an integral role in the daily operations of the HR Unit and will work closely with the HR Director and HR Recruiter. This position works independently, yet within a team environment to ensure matters handled are dealt with in an accurate and timely manner. This position will be responsible for maintaining, processing and tracking a variety of Human Resources actions in Workday including time entry, leave, payroll, reporting and personnel actions and file management. A successful team member will require someone who can successfully demonstrate the ability to be organized, detail oriented and have strong communication skills both verbally and in writing. 

The essential functions of this position includes but is not limited to the following HR areas:

  • Manage time and leave time administration and offboarding actions

  • Coordinate criminal background and drug screens

  • Be a Workday liaison with Workday Roles (Time Partner, HR Partner, Absence Partner, and Learning Partner)

  • Interpret, and apply collective bargaining agreements (including memorandums), Personnel Rules, Administrative Procedures, County and MCDA policies and procedures, and Federal, State and local laws to respond to managers, supervisors, and employees.

  • Manage Classification/Compensation requests

  • Assist the HR Director with projects, auditing and validation of data, etc. 

  • Participate on Countywide Committees as a representative for the DA’s office

  • Provide coverage for the HR team; which includes recruitment and onboarding

This position is a remote telework position. This position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Applicants with demonstrated experience who want to expand their knowledge and experiences in HR are encouraged to apply!

Required Minimum Qualifications / *Transferable Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in human resources, public administration, or criminal justice. (Will consider equivalent years of experience)

  • Two (2) years human resources and/or time leave, and/or recruitment experience.

  • Ability to be proficient with using standard applications and criminal justice databases to input and retrieve sensitive information (Microsoft Office; Word and Excel, Adobe/Foxit, Google Suite, PbK, LEDs etc.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, candidates and staff.

  • Attention to detail with personnel and confidential information.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and accuracy with detail are required. 

  • Must be able to work together as a team under pressure with time sensitivity.

  • Experience providing professional customer service to diverse communities.

Preferred Special Qualifications/Transferable Skills:

  • Experience with working in Workday HRIS system

  • HR Certificate (SHRM CP/SCP, PHR, etc)

  • LEDS Certification

  • Experience working in a public sector and/or in an organization with a collective bargaining agreement
