We're also looking at what's next for you and how we can help you build a career you're proud of. The Human Resources & Professional Development (HRPD) Coordinator supports the execution of HRPD program, policies, and processes in alignment with district, sector and company strategies and priorities to position PCL as an employer of choice.  

 

Here's how a Human Resources Coordinator for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Leading the process for our student program; planning and organizing college recruiting activities, including orientations, events, networking with colleges and universities, managing databases, and coordinating interviews.
  • Providing support to the Human Resources & Professional Development (HRPD) team in recruiting and on boarding practices (entry-to mid-level positions).
  • Providing administrative support to HRPD programs and policy administration as first point of contact.
  • Providing support for career management processes and systems.
  • Assisting with coordination and administration of training and facilitation plans/programs.
  • Participating in the HRPD strategic planning process and providing implementation support on projects/initiatives as assigned.
  • Providing support to employees and HRPD team on HRIS system and company communications.
  • Developing and maintaining strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Other duties as required.
     

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline; working towards a human resources designation preferred.
  • 1 year of human resources related experience or co-op/internship preferred.
  • Basic understanding of HRPD-related principles, practices, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to research and analyze information.
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of change management methodologies an asset.
  • Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking skills.
