The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a key resource in the HR department and be responsible for managing a broad range of HR activities. This role requires a versatile individual with a strong understanding of HR practices, laws, and regulations, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The HR Generalist will work closely with employees and management to ensure the smooth execution of HR initiatives and a positive employee experience. This is a full-time onsite position in Vacaville, CA. 


Main Responsibilities  

  • Act as a liaison between employees and management, handling employee relations issues in a timely and confidential manner. Provide guidance to managers and employees on conflict resolution, performance issues, and workplace policies.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks. Provide guidance to employees on benefits options and assist with benefits enrollment and claims processing.
  • Ensure that the company remains compliant with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Assist with maintaining employee records, preparing reports, and handling audits as required. Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Provide guidance in the performance review process by assisting managers with employee evaluations, feedback, and development plans. Help ensure that performance management practices align with company goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate and assist in the development and delivery of training programs aimed at enhancing employee skills, knowledge, and performance. Track training progress and ensure employees have access to relevant development opportunities.
  • Support the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating hiring efforts. Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process, and assist in the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs. Ensure consistent application of HR policies across the organization and provide guidance on policy-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files and records. Handle HR-related paperwork, including employment contracts, benefits enrollment forms, and performance documentation.
  • Support the compensation and payroll process by maintaining accurate employee records, assisting with payroll inquiries, and reviewing compensation structures to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Relevant HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are a plus. 
  • 3-5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role. Experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HR software or databases.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and labor laws. 
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to HR functions.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to  work in a lab, manufacturing, or office environment.
  • Usually minimal lifting (up to 10-20 lbs), such as carrying office supplies, laptops, or files.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for on-site support or vendor collaboration.

  • Safety protocols must be followed when working with high-voltage components or machinery.
