Human Resource Generalist

Qualifications

PURPOSE OF POSITION:  The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for providing a variety of Human Resource functions/services.


RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:  There are no direct reports to the Human Resource Generalist position.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:


1)  Monitors and assists with all salary administration duties, including quarterly performance reviews


2)  Is responsible for recruitment, temporary/permanent staffing of new employees


3) Acts as benefit liaison between company and assigned brokers and/or third-party vendors


4) Coordinates employee training programs and executes training documentation and retention


5) Coordinates/Organizes employee benefits throughout organization and all health promotion activities


6) Responsible for employee relations, including evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employee recognition programs


7) Ensures compliance with legal and corporate guidelines, including the writing and execution of policies, procedures, and company regulatory manuals


8) Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.


9) Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.


10) Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars, as required.


11) Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.


12) Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.


13) Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.


14) Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.


 


MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Abilities)


1) 2 to 5 years experience in Human Resources


2) Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Related Field (degree may be waived and substituted for years of experience above and beyond the 2 to 5 years required)


3) Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment


4) Ability to multi-task and take on various projects as business needs change


5) Experience with Microsoft Office Products


6) Professional and effective communication skills are a must


 


TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT USED:  Standard office equipment applicable to this position


EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Related Field


OTHER:  Degree may be waived and substituted for years of experience above and beyond the 2 to 5 years required.


WORK EXPERIENCE: 2 to 5 years experience in Human Resources or Related Field
