We are seeking a motivated and experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team. The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance with labor laws, and training & development. The ideal candidate will be skilled in the following:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Staffing:
    • Lead the recruitment and hiring process, including creating job descriptions, interviewing candidates, and managing onboarding processes.
    • Develop talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent and fill open positions.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Act as the main point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
    • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that fosters employee engagement and morale.
    • Work directly with management staff to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
    • Participates on committees and special projects within the organization while seeking additional responsibilities where warranted.
  • Performance Management:
    • Manage the performance appraisal process and work with department managers to identify performance improvement opportunities.
    • Assist in development, implementation, and tracking of training programs for skill enhancement and professional development.
  • Compliance & Policies:
    • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
    • Reviews and make recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
    • Create, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures to all employees.
  • Compensation & Benefits:
    • Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compensation programs to ensure they are competitive and compliant.
    • Support employees with benefits queries and ensure they understand available resources.
  • HR Information System, Analytics & Reporting:
    • Develops and maintains Human Resource Information System that meets the organization’s personnel information needs.
    • Prepare HR reports, including turnover rates, hiring statistics, and other key metrics.
    • Use data to make informed decisions and improve HR practices.
  • FAA Drug & Alcohol Program:
    • Maintain and perform all duties associated with Dow Aero’s FAA Drug & Alcohol program.  Including execution of necessary tasks, reporting requirements, and enforcement of policy.

Required Education or Experience:

  • High School Diploma as well as;
  • Either a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus) AND
  • At least 4 years of experience in Human Resources with a minimum of 5-6 years overall management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in HR software (e.g., HRIS, payroll systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Education/Skills:

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certifications.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Ability to design and implement employee wellness and retention programs.

Primary Work Environment:

  • This job will be performed at the Dow Aero campus.  Remote work will be limited.
  • This job will operate in a professional office environment with occasional visits to various shop environments.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

Expected Days and Hours

  • Monday through Friday
  • First Shift - 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. 

Open and able to work occasional overtime, weekends, and willing to rotate shifts as required dependent on workload.

 

Supervisory or Management Responsibility:

 

This position manages all employees of the HR department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Travel


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. 

 

Required Personal Equipment/Tooling

 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for job duties and responsibilities will be provided as necessary by Dow Aero, including protective eyewear, respirator, etc.
