Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL) has partnered with Navarro Research and Engineering, inc. to form Hanford Laboratories and Management Integration (HLMI). We are seeking applicants for an open Chemist position at the 222-S Laboratory, a DOE facility specializing in the analysis of highly radioactive samples. Work location is in the 200W Area of the Hanford Site near Richland, WA.
Responsibilities:
Candidate must be able to qualify as a radiological worker. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Developing new methods and conducting method qualification studies.
Preparing analytical reports and performing technical data reviews.
Ensuring operational status of analytical equipment by maintaining Calibrations, troubleshooting instrument malfunctions and data quality issues, performing routine preventative maintenance, maintaining control charts, completing method detection limit studies.
Providing direction and training to analytical technicians.
Meeting regulatory hold times and client reporting commitments.
Participating in inter-laboratory proficiency study programs, audits and assessments to maintain method accreditation.
Writing technical procedures and test plans.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in chemistry or related science
10 years lab experience, minimum
Operational experience with ICP, ICPMS, and wet chemistry methods
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in chemistry
Experience with the use of collision cell with ICP-MS
Familiar with EPA SW-846 analytical testing methodology
HLMI is a Federal Government Contractor and therefore required to comply with Federally mandated COVID-19 safety protocols. HLMI employees are required to attest to and provide verification that they are fully vaccinated.
