Title: Interior Designer

We are currently seeking an Interior Designer who will serve as the main point of contact for the interior design and documentation of new homes produced by Tim O’Brien Homes. The Interior Designer will be responsible for completing color selections and finalizing all options for customer, model, and ready home projects as well as scheduling and completing selection appointments with buyers within the timeframe provided at the start of the contract in the pre-construction process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Record and submit selection documentation to the customer for approval. Secure fully executed change orders to agree with all selection documentation
- Follow up with each Customer selection question and/or concern on time
- Create visually appealing PDF design boards for Models/Ready Homes
- Work with Purchasing Department to keep Design Studio inventory updated for product, pricing, and design trends
- Create and maintain product and/or selection information binders for the Design Center. (Examples include overall selections of binder, kitchen/bath cabinetry, countertops, plumbing, appliances, and others as deemed necessary)
- Visit home sites a minimum of twice monthly to evaluate finished homes and product accuracy. Report and collaborate with other departments on areas of improvement
- Train Teams and new hires on new Design Studio products and selections/Design Studio topics
- Follow up with each Trade Partner question and/or concern about selections
- Diagnose and resolve field problems related to selections
- Review Customer and Trade Partner feedback data to constantly improve our products and processes in all areas
Required Experience/Education:
- 1-3 years prior experience in Interior Design
- Experience in residential design preferred
- Minimum technical college degree
- Four-year college or university degree preferred
