Job Description:

As a Global Real Estate Intern, you will collaborate with experienced members of the Global Workplace team in managing Micron’s global real estate portfolio.  You will analyze potential new projects (new sites, relocations, etc.), guide market searches for potential properties, help craft business cases, as well as perform risk and cost benefit analysis. A significant portion of this role will also involve ensuring data integrity across multiple platforms to help drive leadership discussions and push for decision-making. Ad-hoc tasks related to Workplace Strategy (workplace design, occupancy planning, etc.) should also be expected.

Job Responsibilities  

  • Assist in driving Micron’s global real estate strategy (acquisitions, dispositions) by liaising with business leaders, internal stakeholders and key real estate vendors
  • Coordinate with various departments such as Finance, Risk, Legal, Environment, etc. regarding real estate matters
  • Help drive strategic real estate conversations by tracking critical dates and lease clauses (renewals, terminations, other rights and options, etc.)
  • Onboard new and changing landlord entities, working with Finance and Procurement to validate and ensure timely rent payments
  • Conduct real-estate specific financial analyses (ROI, NPV, Break-even, etc.) to assist in relevant decision-making
  • Assist in preparing concise, executive-level presentations and business cases, and be prepared to lead certain internal meetings
  • Manage the contract lifecycle for real estate-related agreements in Micron’s internal system to gain necessary approvals, legal review, and signature of legal documents
  • Assist the Global Space and Portfolio planner with ad-hoc projects related to occupancy planning and workplace design

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Nearing completion of a masters degree (MBA, Finance)
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to quickly distill key information into a visual format
  • Understanding of key commercial real estate terms is beneficial, but not required
  • Productively interact with a wide variety of persons at different levels inside and outside the organization
  • Familiarity and ease with key financial analysis (NPV, ROI, etc.)
  • Interest in continuous process improvement with a growth mindset and applying it to their work
