We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Junior Staff Accountant to join our team in El Cajon, CA. Under the direction of the Inventory Senior Accountant, the ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in inventory accounting, including performing or supporting cycle counts or physical inventories. This position will report to the Procurement and Inventory Senior Accountant and focus on supporting accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with internal controls.


Responsibilities:



  • Record and monitor inventory transactions to ensure timely and accurate updates to the general ledger.

  • Assist with reconciliations of inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger to ensure accurate reporting.

  • Support monthly inventory close processes by preparing journal entries and reviewing inventory balances.

  • Assist in analyzing material costs and identifying any unusual variances or trends.

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with annual physical counts to ensure accuracy in inventory records.

  • Maintain inventory control procedures and assist with tracking inventory adjustments and transfers.

  • Support the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process by ensuring proper documentation and adjustments.

  • Research inventory exceptions to confirm proper treatment.

  • Assist with generating inventory-related reports for management review and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure accurate and efficient inventory tracking.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • At least 1 year of experience in accounting for inventory, including performing or supporting cycle counts or physical inventories.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and functions like XLOOKUP and IF.

  • Experience accounting for RMAs is a plus.

  • Familiarity with inventory costing methods such as average costing.

  • Experience with ERP systems, such as NetSuite, is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills for collaborating with different departments.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.


Pay Rate : $24-$29 hr. Depending on Experience
