Job summary
Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to, referencing & retrieving master programs for new jobs; the set up and utilization of CNC programs to control platform orientation and movement; downloading the programs into applicable controllers, as well as the running of different computer numeric controlled (CNC) production equipment within the YAG/Metals Department.
Summary of essential job functions
- Run Nd Yag lasers, as well as the use of shield gas (Argon, Helium, Nitrogen) to prevent visual discoloration when required.
- Use one of three process parameters in welding: “pulse width” or “width”; “frequency” or “rate”; and “PFN” or “height”.
- Knowledgeable of different materials for welding (i.e.: stainless steel; carbon steel; titanium; aluminum, etc.
- Ability to set up jobs and determine the required fixture.
- Take heed to all necessary precautions when using Yag based machines; follow quality procedures and coordinate issues through appropriate channels. (i.e.) supervisors, managers, sales, QA.
- Flexible enough to work on different products constantly
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Ability to read/understand blueprints.
- Ability to read “G” Code; sets ups.
- Microscope work (i.e.: light source inspections; microscope alignments).
- Ability to use measuring devices; (i.e.) Verniers, Pin Gage, (CMM).
- Operate CNC laser machines.
- Ability to follow guidelines for handling welded parts to avoid contamination and physical damage.
- Experience with Manufacturing software/similar job tracking software.
