About the role

Kleinig Constructions is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team in Victor Harbor, South Australia. This is a full-time role where you will play a key part in the delivery of high-quality residential construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and coordinate a small team of carpenters and apprentices to ensure projects are completed to the highest standard and on schedule
  • Read and interpret construction plans, specifications and work orders
  • Provide on-site supervision, support and mentoring to junior carpenters and apprentices
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors and other trades to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
  • You are responsible to plan the next day before you finish work everyday, this means having
    required tools and materials ready
  • Responsible for jobsite safety, cleanliness, security and protection from the elements. Job site is
    expected to be clean everyday
  • You are responsible for keeping trailer and shed stocked with all materials and sundries for trailer.
    Notify manager of any items needed before they run out
  • Use and check the Connect team app daily for work schedule and communicate to manager if there is any discrepancies
  • Fill out provided diary daily and send photo everyday through connect team.
  • We are residential builders so the work will vary from carpentry from time to time, we also do all aspects of carpentry for our projects
     

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a leading hand or supervisory role
  • Formal qualifications in carpentry, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to efficiently address challenges on site
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors and the wider construction team
  • A valid driver's licence
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
