Job Description
The Litigation Specialist position constitutes an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on paralegal experience in the legal industry. Litigation Specialists at Kobre & Kim are part of the larger Litigation Assistant program. They join case teams upon arrival and work in close collaboration with Analysts, Litigation Assistants, and Attorneys. Litigation Specialists are responsible for assisting their teams with various administrative tasks, primarily in their office, but are also considered for staffing across offices in other jurisdictions. The work undertaken will qualify as Qualifying Work Experience.
General duties:
Preparation of court bundles and filings in English High Court, Court of Appeal, and/or Supreme Court proceedings, assisting the London office in administrative matters as needed.
Organization and maintenance of physical and electronic case files across global case teams, development and implementation of organization systems, saving contacts, correspondence and documents, calendaring meetings/deadlines, management of the production and receipt of documents during disclosure/discovery.
Preparation, proofreading, and filing of documents for court proceedings and correspondence with clients/opponents/courts.
Drafting and reviewing court documents, analyzing primary and legal documents, and conducting legal research under attorney supervision.
Preparation of court, attorney and client bundles and assistance with pre-hearing and pre-trial materials.
Filing documents with and obtaining documents from various courts and agencies, coordinating in-person document delivery, and collaborating with external vendors.
Job Qualifications
Candidates must possess at least 2 years of experience in English court proceedings. Candidates must also have vast experience in English High Court, Court of Appeal, and/or Supreme Court proceedings.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent teamwork, communication, organizational, and creative and anticipatory thinking skills. Candidates should also demonstrate a willingness and ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
