Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities



  1. Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.

  2. Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.

  3. Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production.

  4. Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining, or replacement of purchased parts.

  5. Perform skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts; adjust feed and limit mechanisms, gibs, and ways.

  6. Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment to involve dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting and aligning operations.

  7. Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and the grounds.

  8. Assist to determine the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.

  9. Perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units.

  10. Maintain required maintenance logs and files in preferred program.

  11. Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.

  12. Respond to urgent maintenance issues causing a major deficit to production/operations, and repair or troubleshoot the problem until production can resume according. This includes on call requirements, as this position is responsible to be on call as a part of an on call rotation and schedule dictated by Plant Maintenance Supervisor.

  13. Maintain and utilize 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot or provide routine preventative maintenance appropriate for corresponding equipment and procedures at the direction or approval of the Plant Maintenance supervisor.

  14. Follows Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper technique and quality.

  15. Cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position and follows GMP’s.

  16. Work together well with a variety of personalities and individuals and participates in a professional manner to accomplish the business goal (quality bakery, great customer service).
