Since 1952, Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area.  The organization is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician. This person is responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing all buildings, equipment and grounds associated with Light of Life properties. Light of Life owns four buildings on the Northside of Pittsburgh. These service and repair projects will include, but are not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC (boilers included). The Maintenance Technician will need to be available to respond to emergency calls during and after hours. This position is multifaceted where no two days look alike. Must be willing to be flexible and provide staff and clients with a positive experience. 


Due to the interface with the clients, all jobs at Light of Life require employees to:

  • Study the Christian Bible and apply the knowledge received/revealed to job duties and clients' specific issues.

  • Help the clients make choices that are justifiably in their eternal best interest.

  • Practice Christ Like stewardship of all resources.

  • Model personal responsibility, accountability, timely reporting and a self-evaluative lifestyle.

Education/Experience:


  • Minimum high school diploma or GED 

  • 3-5 years of general maintenance experience

  • Valid PA driver's license and clean driving record

  • Knowledge of issues pertaining to addiction, homelessness, and mental illness helpful
