BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Network Engineer will ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.
The Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:

- Collaborate with department heads to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

- Design and deploy LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, access points, UPSs, and other hardware.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
- Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
- Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
- Assist Telephony team to maintain VOIP phone system.
- Assist Audio Visual Team to maintain Audio/Video systems.

- Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling objectives and processes.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
- Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
- Participate in managing all network security solutions.
- Perform network and security audits.
- Ability to participate in on-call/after hours rotation with team.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline required.
- In lieu of a degree, 8+ years experience is required.
- With a degree, at least 5 years’ experience with Cisco Routers, switches, firewalls and wireless infrastructure; and a solid understanding of wireless network architecture required.
- CCNP or higher strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
- Solid understanding of ITIL lifecycle stages and practices.
- Experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD WAN troubleshooting and implementation.
- Experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
- Communication skills with the ability to persuade others on the best approach to take and effectively communicate with varying levels of leadership. Develops and provides written and verbal presentations to customers, peers, and support personnel.
- Demonstrates the required proficiency levels for technical skills. Technical skills and IT knowledge related to assigned department to provide services in an information technology environment.
