We are looking for our next leader to join the Abdo team who has a passion for serving nonprofit entities. As a Senior Manager, you will guide the team in providing project resources for Nonprofit clients.


In this role, the Senior Manager will lead a variety of consulting projects, helping nonprofit organizations strategically work through their financial, operational, and regulatory challenges, while maximizing their financial efficiencies. Due to these efforts, our clients will be able to focus more on their mission! The scope of work can also include: long-term planning, budgeting/forecasting, audit preparation, process improvement initiatives, research/policy drafting and software implementation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and modify complex spreadsheets, develop and manipulate MS-Excel based financial planning
  • Harness effective technological solutions to provide our clients with comprehensive accounting and financial information
  • Manipulate large and complex data sets extracted from financial/accounting systems  
  • Write comprehensive study reports
  • Read and interpret comprehensive annual financial reports, budgets, growth plans, etc.
  • Lead consulting engagements, including: managing project timelines, client communication and deliverables
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, which may include software implementation projects
  • Provides strategic guidance on key accounting and financial management issues
  • Manage key relationships with clients
  • Manages workload, projects and provides direction to client-facing staff


Ideal Senior Manager candidate has: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 
  • 7+ years experience working in public accounting or nonprofit accounting 
  • Experience in the nonprofit industry
  • Experience with software implementations, long-term financial planning, budgeting, cost management and cost allocation
  • Experience in project management and navigating change management
  • Proficient MS-Excel skills. Examples: advanced MS-Excel functions (i.e. data referencing (VLOOKUP, H-LOOKUP, SUMIFS), conditional statements (IF, MAX, MIN), pivot tables, graphs and charts
  • Experience in Sage Intacct and QuickBooks
  • Knowledge of quantitative analysis, financial modeling, nonprofit accounting
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including the ability to interpret the analytical results
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
