Work Schedule: 


This is a 100% FTE working day/evenings, Monday – Friday 10-12 hour coverage with rotating weekends and holidays. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work with patients with acute and chronic illnesses, specifically Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patients in the inpatient setting.


As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our care teams by providing high-quality and cost-effective care to patients.


We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:



  • Work with patients with acute and chronic illnesses, specifically Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy patients in the inpatient setting.

  • Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessment of patients with acute health problems undergoing treatment including allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplants, CAR T-cell and bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) therapies. 

  • Perform procedures required for disease evaluation and treatment such as: Punch skin biopsy, Bone marrow biopsies with/without conscious sedation, Lumbar puncture, and Intrathecal chemotherapy administration.

Education:
If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA Program.


Preferred – Master’s degree or higher. 


Work Experience:


Preferred - Prior APP clinical experience, RN/APP inpatient experience, or prior oncology experience.


Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum –  State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
If Nurse Practitioner*:



  • Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND

  • Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following:  Adult or Adult/Gerontology Acute Care.


If Physician Assistant*:



  • Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND

  • Active PA board certification


All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
