The Opportunity
Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Lab Technician to join our team, with experience in Food and Beverage who will be responsible for managing a Packaging Lab and Pilot Plant onsite in East Hanover, NJ. The individual must possess experience in managing a Packaging Lab, as well as strong technical skills, the ability to learn on the fly and execute independently by leveraging their expertise and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform requested packaging testing, share data with requestor, maintain records of test results.
- Act as liaison between Packaging Developers and Pilot Plant staff to plan trials, coordinate activities, material arrival and ensure proper forms/ requirements in place.
- Provide oversight and coaching of packaging testing.
- Create and maintain internal test methods and SOP’s for each instrument and equipment type.
- Coordinate periodic site safety inspections
- Maintain safe, organized, stocked and tidy lab environment at all times.
- Meet with other Lab Leads monthly as part of Global community of practice.
- Support trials at Pilot Plant as needed.
- Ability to conduct tours of the lab to Senior Leadership
- Conduct safety training for new employees and as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferable in the food industry, with keen eye for safety and organization.
- Mastery in all packaging lab testing equipment and willingness to stay current in testing methods
- Strong fundamental understanding of packaging material testing
- Must be able to find technical solutions when problems are identified
- Effective communicator to the Packaging Development Team
- Ability to communicate testing results and identify outliers
- Strong verbal, reporting and data communication skills
- Leadership and ability to work independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize projects and/or escalate time constraints
- Ability to manage budget for current year and planning for upcoming

Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000
