Paralegal – Bankruptcy

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is a national law firm with a proven reputation for providing progressive, industry-leading legal, business, regulatory and government relations advice to our regional, national and international clients. 

We are currently searching for an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal for our Pittsburgh, PA location.

Hybrid work schedule available for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor ECF dockets for a high-volume practice


• Draft proofs of claim, certificates of service and simple motions


• Manage high volume of ECFs


• Monitor upcoming file deadlines and interact with attorneys to communicate those deadlines


• Keep up to date on local rules and practices


• Communicate with Courts/Court-Clerks regarding administrative matters

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience as a Paralegal


• 5+ years of prior law firm experience


• A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in bankruptcy, preferred


• Experience in all phases of the bankruptcy process representing debtor and creditors in complex business/corporate Chapter 11 proceedings


• Must be proficient with ECF


• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)


• Ability to organize and prioritize workload and anticipate needs


• Outstanding written and verbal communications


• Ability to professionally interact with clients, attorneys and staff


• Ability to work overtime, as required
