Rhoades McKee is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with a focus on eDiscovery to join our team! The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting our busy commercial litigation practice to provide exceptional service to our clients.


Our litigators appear in state and federal courts throughout the State, but primarily in West Michigan. Knowledge of or experience with state and federal courts, rules, and procedures (or a willingness and ability to learn them) would be beneficial.


Responsibilities include:



  • Prepare and organize case files to ensure accuracy and currency of all documents.

  • Assist in developing new cases by collecting documents and information from new clients and organizing electronic files.

  • Interview clients, witnesses and experts to gather information needed for case preparation.

  • Draft pleadings and other legal documents such as summonses and complaints, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, trial exhibits and documents used to enhance collection efforts, including claims of lien, under attorney supervision.

  • Experience, interest, and proficiency in managing electronic discovery, and a willingness to learn and teach others how to effectively use and manage eDiscovery on cases of various sizes.

  • Organize and review document productions from other parties, preparing them for use in depositions using digital tools, including document manipulation, and merging and affixing exhibit stickers using Adobe products.

  • Prepare documents for discovery production, utilizing digital technologies such as cloud services for delivery to other parties.

  • Assist in trial preparation by organizing documents and exhibits, including creating demonstrative exhibits, timelines, etc.

  • Communicate case status updates with clients and facilitate the exchange of documents.

  • Prepare for and support attorneys during federal court trials and evidentiary hearings.

  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Physical Requirements:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Limited travel on an occasional basis and rare overnight travel may be required depending on trial schedules.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
