San Francisco boutique law firm specializing in real estate transactions and lending, land use, environmental issues and litigation related to these areas of law has an opening for a transactional real estate paralegal with a specialty in title and survey to assist with title and due diligence review and all facets of closings for complex lending and commercial real estate transactions. The firm’s clients, and the transactions we handle for those clients, are of the type ordinarily handled by much larger firms. Our firm embodies an alternative to mega-firm culture while maintaining rigorous professional standards. Requirements

Candidate Requirements: 

     

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program;
  • Minimum of seven (7) years direct experience as a transactional real estate paralegal;
  • Thorough understanding of title insurance coverage, policies, forms and endorsements;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills;
  • Extensive knowledge of real estate terminology and thorough understanding of the commercial transactional and financing process.
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Word and Outlook. 

Job duties include, but are not limited to:


Review and analysis of title reports, underlying title documents, surveys, and due diligence materials and preparation of title objections, responses and title policy requirements for commercial loans, acquisitions, and sales;Negotiation of title insurance coverage and polices directly with title companies and underwriters;Drafting of correspondence regarding transaction issues;Review of purchase agreements, contracts and leases and preparation of closing checklists and critical date timelines;Formation, registration and maintenance of business entities (both domestic and foreign);Drafting and preparation of closing documents and escrow instructions;Closing coordination directly with attorneys, clients, lenders, and escrow/title officers; andPreparation of closing binders.
