Andgar Food Processing Equipment, LLC has a full-time opening for a PLC Programmer at our headquarters in Ferndale, WA. We build on the legacy of always providing quality, expert service while exceeding customer's expectations. Essential Job Functions:

  • Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controller (PLCs) and servo controllers.
  • Maintain backups of all PLC and Drive Programs
  • Maintain electrical records and prints on plant equipment, conformance of plant electrical systems to safety and regulatory requirements; Maintain plant electrical systems
  • Mount and wire electro-mechanical components such as motor controls, variable frequency drives, PLC's and instrumentation.
  • Assembly of electro/mechanical assemblies, calibration, and testing of the final product
  • Write technical reports for test and quality as needed
  • Interpret drawings, illustrations, manufacturing instructions, job orders, test and quality reports
  • Ability to design and build UL listed control panels for PLC controlled equipment.
  • Assembling low voltage 24V DC systems and some systems operating on 120 VAC or 480 VAC, including soldering and crimping
  • Read, analyze, interpret documents such as procedure manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints & schematics to aid in the high-quality assembly and/or repair of robotic systems, power supplies and cables
  • Perform tasks on a variety of wires and multi-conductor cables such as cutting, sleeving, terminating and labeling
  • Experience QA testing using multimeters
  • Using a laptop computer to interface with devices
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule (attendance and punctuality)
  • Seek assistance as needed and asks questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, electrical and electronic schematics, ladder logic diagrams, general machine specification documents, charts, and manuals.
  • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of power transmission such as gearboxes, motors, conveyors, material handling equipment, fully and semi-automated equipment.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing fully and semi-automated equipment
  • Skilled in the use of power tools, shop equipment such as drill presses, grinders, etc.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage controls and instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of electrical prints, symbols and safe testing methods of medium voltage systems.
  • Ability to follow instructions with appropriate level of self-direction
  • Ability to interact with customers, vendors and employees on a positive level
  • Responsive to inter-company personnel
  • Computer literate with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Accurately key-board at least 30 wpm

Employee Requirements:

  • AS Degree in Electro-mechanical Technology or 5 years of Electro-Mechanical Equipment Maintenance experience and accredited, qualifying Technical Certificate(s)
  • Minimum of 3 years prior job experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Automation Direct PLC systems. Knowledge of ladder logic programming and statement lists
  • CPR & First Aid, Aerial Work Platform, Forklift, Rigging & Signaling Training within 12 months of hire
  • Current Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
