Job Title\:  Professional Research Assistant

Job Summary:

This position’s primary purpose is to assist with laboratory operations, including\: clinical study management, sample inventory, sample processing, quality assurance, and other duties as assigned such as extramurally funded scientific studies. The laboratory supports pre-clinical and clinical research studies for antiviral therapeutics including HIV, HBV, HCV, and COVID-19. The laboratory analyzes and interprets antiviral drug concentrations measured from human and/or animal samples via liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. The laboratory operates in a regulated environment including CLIA and FDA regulations. This position will be a clinical research coordinator and laboratory technician; specific responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with day-to-day activities with the clinical protocols including:
    • management of regulatory approvals
    • recruiting and consenting participants
    • conducting study visits
    • managing data entry
    • quality assurance
  • Assistance with laboratory operations including:
    • management of sample inventories
    • sample processing
    • quality assurance 
  • Collecting, recording, analyzing, and presenting data
  • Meeting with Principal Investigators for the purpose of progress updates and mentoring. 

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Laboratory research experience
  • Experience with clinical research

  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret and comprehend complex research protocol information.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$48,410 - $55,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
