Position Summary: As a Project Accountant, you will be crucial in overseeing the financial management of our projects for the Traffic and Transportation Sectors. Your key duties will include generating monthly client invoices, researching, and tracking receivables, and processing contracts. A critical aspect of the role involves collaborating with project managers to assess financial status and invoicing. We are looking for a resourceful and adaptable individual who thrives in a dynamic setting.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare FAR-compliant forms for proposals/projects
Prepare and process all documents relating to client & subconsultant contracts and amendments
Prepare client invoice packages and follow up on outstanding payments
Process subconsultant invoices
Maintain project financial and contractual records in Deltek Ajera and SharePoint
Prepare project financial status reports and other project correspondence to aid project management
Contribute to the overall general office and administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
Must be available to work onsite at least 2 days per week in either our Roseville or Sacramento offices.
Must be onsite at least 1 day per month in our Sacramento office.
3+ years of project accounting experience working with engineering, construction, or architectural firms
Comprehensive understanding of direct, indirect, allowable, and unallowable costs associated with the FAR & GAAP accounting principles
Comprehensive understanding of AASHTO Uniform Auditing & Accounting Guide requirements
Competent in oral and written communications
Attention to detail
Technical Skills
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Edge, Project)
Comprehensive understanding of complex Excel spreadsheets (pivot tables, formulas, data format/sort/filter, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Experience working with project management software applications, preferably Deltek Ajera
