The Regional Sales Manager role is responsible for the sales functions in an assigned geographical region. Manages, directs, and coordinates all sales plans, programs, and activities. Ensures that professional business relations exist with customers and that their needs are met. Directs, trains, and appraises Territory Business Managers. Provides sales and product-related training to Inside Sales and Customer Service team members within the region. The Regional Sales Manager is a remote position but does require travel at minimum of three days per week.
Essential functions and basic duties:
Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of effective regional sales and profit budgets and forecasts, including assigning optimal sales territories to Territory Business Managers.
Creating and implementing strategies to exceed sales and margin goals within region, keeps management informed of area activities, progress toward established goals, and of any significant challenges.
Effectively supervises the sales force, ensuring optimal performance, establishes sales goals, conducts quarterly performance appraisals and bi-weekly 1:1’s as required. Frequent travel with Business Managers at least three days per week. Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining professional business relations with customers, vendors, and trade contacts.
Maintains awareness of the Company's competitive position, industry trends, and the changing business environment to identify opportunities for growth.
Responsible for hiring, training, and managing Territory Business Managers within the sales region.
Maintains regional pricing in accordance with company guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
