 Overview:


The John Jerome Paul Chair for Equity in Math Education is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to fill the role of Research Assistant/Math Outreach Coordinator. This part-time position is ideally suited to someone studying at the MEd or PhD level, looking to gain more research and collaboration experience while studying, or for an educator who is not currently working full time. The role is crucial to the success of our research and outreach initiatives, focusing on promoting equity in math education. Working under the direct supervision of the Chair holder, Dr. Lisa Lunney Borden, you will play a key role in supporting various research and outreach projects to achieve the chair's goals. This multifaceted role encompasses a range of responsibilities, from data collection and analysis to preparing research proposals and reports, and from collaborating with research participants and partners to creating materials for research and outreach programs. In addition, you will be responsible for supervising undergraduate research and outreach assistants.
 


Requirements:
 


Strong organizational and communication skills.
 


Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
 


Background in Education or a related field
 


Excellent writing and research skills.
 


Comfort using a variety of technological tools such as spreadsheets, collaborative whiteboards, web-based tools, etc.
 


Prior experience in a research or outreach role is a plus.
 


 


Work Arrangement:


Flexible hours to accommodate part-time schedule.
 


Some in-person tasks will be required, but remote work is possible when feasible.
