Cambrian is seeking a Retail Sales Manager (RSM), responsible for leading their branch team in the achievement of all growth and sales objectives. The RSM is ultimately accountable for the execution and monitoring of all operations and performance measures for their assigned branch, while working together with the Directors, Retail Sales & Service and the RSM team to achieve overall corporate objectives.
The RSM will lead the delivery of superior member service and the achievement of all growth objectives by ensuring their team dutifully employs Cambrian’s corporate sales and administrative processes, readily adopt and integrate new tools and technology, regularly refer to partner business units, actively manage sales pipelines and display key behaviors related to member focus and teamwork.
In the role of Retail Sales Manager, you will:
- Be accountable for growing all Cambrian & partner retail banking products and services as measured through operational sales, revenue generation, net portfolio growth and referral targets to partner business units.
- Be accountable to lead and foster a results-oriented culture, with a focus on maximizing performance at all levels within assigned branches, through ongoing coaching, observation feedback, mentorship and proactive sales team management activities.
- Provide direct leadership over the delivery of all ongoing member contact, service and business development
activities by:
- Actively leading the promotion and deployment of all corporate and in-branch sales initiatives.
- Building member loyalty through fostering a sales and service environment that emphasizes saving our members time and money, simplifying their finances and solving their financial problems.
- Leading and coaching Personal Banking Advisors to:
- Develop strong relationships with current and potential members; supporting them in working to identify and understand the needs of members, leveraging their knowledge and experience to provide appropriate financial advice and recommendations on complex credit and deposit services and referral opportunities.
- Meet their assigned goals through proactive sales techniques and sales management activities including the development of an effective pipeline of future business opportunities and applying prospecting tactics.
- Ensuring the front-line team deliver quality service and meet their sales targets by integrating the branch team to work as one cohesive unit, supervising and coaching the Member Services Managers and encouraging a member-focused culture within the branch.
- Championing the various sales and corporate change initiatives.
- Building a one-team approach among RSM group to be able to service Cambrian members when they
want, where they want and how they want.
- Lead the success of the branch by making Cambrian's presence and brand visible in the communities the branch serves, establishing and maintaining member relationships and seeking out new business opportunities, working in alignment with the corporate marketing plan.
- Maintain strict adherence to established risk, administration, compliance & premises controls. Provide coaching and support in the effective application of Cambrian’s administration and retail lending policies and actively participating in the ongoing maintenance of corporate audit and quality control programs and resolving
identified audit/quality issues.
- Responsible for leadership, development and performance management of all branch staff including timely training and development; regular coaching and one-on-one sessions, addressing performance issues and completing performance reviews.
- Participate fully as a team member to build a positive work environment, willingly assist and mentor others in the completion of work activities and addressing any communication issues effectively.
- Provide assistance and support to the Director, Retail Sales & Service and/or Cambrian Management Team as deemed necessary and/or required.
Your experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Administration or equivalent; plus a minimum 5 years of financial services experience, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a sales management position
- Demonstrated critical thinker with a broad level of sales management experience within a fast-paced, highly regulated, and dynamic environment
- Strong leadership competency with a high emphasis towards goal attainment and quality service in a team-based environment, through ongoing coaching, mentorship, and sales management activities
- Strong knowledge of the application of various product offerings within the financial services market specific to investment & deposit services, small business banking, and digital banking channels (online/mobile tools)
- Demonstrated experience providing financial advice, with a strong focus on retail lending skills including thorough knowledge and understating of sound credit practices and retail lending processes
- A sound knowledge of investments acquired through work experience, study and/or completion of the Canadian Securities Course or financial planning courses is a definite asset
- Innovative thinker, open to new ideas, processes and applications and able to implement change
- Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities
