Job Description

We are seeking a Security Guard to join our team. In this role, you will work to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates, visitors and company assets. The position will work closely with First Responders in administrating first aid and communicating and directing emergency personnel to site. The ideal candidate has proven surveillance skills and a working knowledge of security monitoring systems and emergency equipment. 

A day in the office looks like this:  

  • Monitor and control access at the employee entrances in part by checking for associate badges for all individuals entering the facility.  
  • Validates individual’s employment status and logs any associate without a company badge.  
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling facility, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting doors and other points of entry to ensure that it’s properly secured and locked.  
  • Random patrol facility.  
  • Observe for signs of theft and disorder and investigate disturbances or suspicious activity.  
  • Prevent loss and damage by immediately reporting irregularities, directing visitors to main office entrance, ensuring adherence to facilities badge policy, preventing non-Lakeshore associates from entering the facility, etc.   
  • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls (BAF, Heater units, air exchange units).  
  • Completes reports daily by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.  
  • Perform basic first aid and CPR as required.   

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position  
  • Highschool diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not required.  
  • Needs to have a solid understanding of Distribution Operations.  
  • Adheres to all company Safety and Security policies.  
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions (with or without accommodation) without posing a direct threat to health and safety to self or others.  
  • Demonstrated surveillance skills using sound judgement and objectivity.
