About Maddox + You:


We are seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for running the monthly close process in accordance with GAAP principles, as well as being a team lead to the accounting staff.

More about You:


Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Run all phases of the closing and reporting functions, including preparing journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, and corporate accounting policies and procedures

  • Coordinate the team to complete audit and analysis of each balance sheet account as part of monthly close process

  • Responsible for researching updates in accounting rules and regulations, and preparing memorandums documenting company policy 

  • Aid in the development, documentation and implementation of internal controls

  • Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting standard operating procedures

  • Assist with independent auditors to facilitate a successful audit and provide documentation requests, as necessary 

  • Liaises with other departments as necessary when reviewing GL activity during the month

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, including assistance with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests


Experience & Education:



  • Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Masters preferred

  • CPA preferred

  • Minimum 6-8 years of accounting experience

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel and Word required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with ERP type accounting software


Pay: Starting range with bonus: $90k-$110k. Plus up to $1k/month wellness stipend and other benefits.
