Summary 
The pursuing firm is seeking a senior leader for its A&E / Civil Engineering business sector in the telecommunication, energy, and utility verticals. The ideal candidate will strategically complement existing leadership and better position the pursuing firm for its next phase of growth through the strengthening of current industry contacts, recruitment efforts, technical breadth, operational strategy, and business acumen.
 

Senior Director Responsibilities 

  • Accountable for the fiscal responsibility and sound financial management through the development, recognition, and implementation of practices that increase revenues and decrease costs as well as driving revenue generation through client development and retention.

  • Evaluate existing workflows and processes and determine which require documentation, cross-training, redesign, or automation.

  • Maximize utilization of existing resources, equipment, and personnel, leading change as necessary.

  • Lead the formulation and implementation of a strategic plan that guides the direction of the department and achieves the department’s financial initiatives.

  • Recruiting, managing, and retaining department personnel, including ensuring that their team has the right processes and tools to be successful.

  • Manage department personnel and leads them to success through the implementation of innovative and efficient procedures and processes.

  • Oversees the development of standard operating procedures for A&E / Civil Engineering services.

  • Serve as a senior technical resource for department personnel.

  • Prioritizes and distributes tasks amongst department personnel.

  • Perform quality inspection of department deliverables, providing coaching/training to teams as necessary to improve delivered product.

  • Work with project coordinator(s) to proactively track project schedules, taking action as schedule expectations dictate.

  • Develops client relationships, client retention practices, and grows/maintains revenue streams.

  • Maintaining awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards.

Computer Software Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and advanced Excel functions is required

  • Experience with computer drafting software, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, is required

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience and demonstrated proficiency in the civil engineering field, focusing on site development, earthwork, drainage, and/or utilities

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in client management, client-facing project management

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification that is current and registered in at least one state

  • Experience managing site development projects at a holistic level is required

  • Experience designing all aspects (grading, stormwater, utilities, erosion control, infrastructure layout, etc.) of civil site development is required

  • Experience in the telecommunications field is strongly preferred
    • If candidate does not have experience in the telecommunications industry, candidate should have experience in energy or other utility related industries 



Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Civil or related engineering field from an ABET accredited institution.



Compensation: $125,000.00 per year
