• Salary $98K to $119K + overtime and penalties

The Role  

ABC News has a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Journalist to join the NSW News team. Utilising your contacts and sources you will break original and exclusive stories for a local and national audience.   

 The Job 

• Utilise contacts and sources to break significant stories of high value for a wide audience.


• Demonstrate creative storytelling for digital and broadcast audiences.


• Maintain a strong understanding of issues affecting NSW and their relevance to local and national audiences.


• Work collaboratively with the team and provide leadership through experience and knowledge.

About You 

As a highly experienced journalist, you will demonstrate well-honed editorial judgement and experience uncovering and telling original stories. Your skills and experience will also include:

• Advanced presentation skills with experience delivering content for digital and broadcast outlets.


• Sophisticated communication skills relevant to storytelling.


• Excellent teamwork and collaboration in a newsroom environment.


• Deep understanding of audience preferences and behaviour.


• Significant understanding of media technology, relevant software, production systems and reporting tools.
