The Corporate Communications team is responsible for informing internal and external audiences about Dun & Bradstreet’s offerings, corporate story, growth strategy and evolving brand. This collaborative team is responsible for partnering across Dun & Bradstreet to understand the needs of the business, clients, alliances, and the market, and to execute communications programs that help the company differentiate its brand and deliver on the expectations of stakeholders.
We are seeking an editorial-minded, data-driven journalist to join our Communications Team. In this role you will leverage Dun & Bradstreet’s data and analytics and craft compelling narratives around our business geared toward external use with clients and prospects, investors, and media. This role involves uncovering enterprise stories and monitoring breaking national and global news, business content and trending topics to engage our clients, the media and investors with compelling content. As a Data Journalist, you will be responsible for generating innovative story ideas, conducting in-depth analysis of our data, and creating attention-grabbing headlines and content for organic media pickup and for publication on our own digital platforms, including web and social media. If you love traditional journalism, are obsessed with data analysis, and you have the skills to merge those passions into meaningful and impactful stories, this is the job for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for analyzing and interpreting data and delivering those findings by authoring news articles and building experiential content on our digital platforms, and by contributing to stories produced by our communications, marketing and data and analytics teams. You will also manage Dun & Bradstreet’s organic social media team and platforms.
- Develop 2-3 unique data-driven articles, blog posts or other stories each month that leverage D&B data, analytics and scores, industry trends and client use cases to inform content creation that will capture the attention of media outlets and other external audiences (i.e. clients, investors, partners).
- Analyze our company data, analytics and scores to create unique and compelling narratives and headlines (i.e. “according to Dun & Bradstreet data….”) for use with media and other key stakeholders.
- Generate fresh and captivating story ideas centered around our business priorities, ensuring relevance and appeal to target audiences.
- Manage organic social media professional to write, edit, and publish content across various social media platforms to increase brand awareness and engage with our audiences effectively, expertly leveraging the content your produce as a vehicle for brand awareness.
- Partner with our data scientists and analysts to unearth unique insights with click-worthy appeal focused on current events and news cycles (i.e., economics, supply chain, Gen AI).
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, including communications and marketing teams, to identify promising avenues for data journalism projects for broader D&B awareness.
- Pitch ideas for original stories and contribute data reporting and analysis to stories conceived by teammates.
- Inform development of appealing infographics, charts, illustrations, podcasts, videos and other creative visuals to elevate the stories you craft.
- Manage multiple data and storytelling projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, ethics, and thoughtful decision making.
- Contribute to the company’s global editorial content calendar, collaborating with internal teams to align data journalism projects with business priorities.
Skills and/or Certifications:
- Ability to look at data and quickly spot and extract news-worthy indicators and craft clear, concise and impactful stories that resonate with various target audiences.
- Exhibit creativity and innovation in generating compelling story ideas and approaches, keeping content fresh, relevant, and appealing to diverse audiences.
- Superior writing and editing skills and ability to generate content with minimal editing needed.
- Expert knowledge of a wide variety of social media platforms and media outlets.
- Impeccable attention to detail and quality control.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to direct report and other team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Adept at working with creative staff to inform creation of visuals.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality work on time.

Education and Experience:
- At least 8+ years of experience reporting and working with data to craft compelling stories; B2B experience is a plus.
- At least 2-5 years people management experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, ideally with a major in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
- An understanding of the media landscape, what interests' journalists, and how best to present those insights, and social media platforms, analytics tools, and best practices.
